Development of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics

Since the beginning of human existence, people have developed simple tools to facilitate their work and to produce more work with less labor. With the availability of steam power and electric power, the need for manpower has partially disappeared. The foundations of robot use are built on the industrial revolution.

However, these systems lacked the ability to make decisions and did not have the ability to detect errors. Independent of the developments in the industrial revolution, there were also developments in information technologies.
With the intersection of information technologies with industrial developments, robot technology has become used in many industries. The following developments have led to the definition of artificial intelligence and the necessity of studies in this field.

Where are Artificial Intelligence and Robot Technologies Used?

Although robotics and artificial intelligence are seen as different concepts, they complete each other when they find areas of use. Before artificial intelligence and robots entered human life, they have already been featured in science fiction movies.
Robots, in today’s technology, are used in many areas such as;

Automotive sector,

Medicine,

Defense industry,

Aviation,

Food sector,

Energy production sector and related formations,

Space exploration,

Computer technologies.

Although there is no exact job description for artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence technology is used extensively in smartphones, automotive control systems, data processing and analysis systems, and the entertainment industry.

The Relation Between Artificial Intelligence and Robotics

Artificial intelligence and robotics, which have become the basic requirements of modern life, are used in production areas and capital markets to produce more with less energy. However, it is also possible to say that they provide many contributions to people. Especially in environments that are not suitable for human work, robots, and artificial intelligence technologies easily fulfill the tasks assigned to them. The meeting of robots and artificial intelligence has been with the developments in chip production.

As new developments are introduced in chip production, it seems that the usage area of artificial intelligence and robot technology will become more widespread in parallel with the developments of the software.

Factors Affecting the Development of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics

All technological developments are shaped according to human needs. Developments in artificial intelligence and robotics develop in parallel with these needs. The development of these technologies is influenced by developments in many disciplines such as computer science, biology, psychology, linguistics, and mathematics. In this way, technological data can turn into robots that can think, make decisions and even learn thanks to artificial intelligence.
